There are four classifications of NIPA membership. NIPA's membership calendar runs from July 1- June 30. When you join NIPA today, your membership is valid through June 30, 2011.

1. Business Owner Membership ($495) is a TPA business owner. Business Owner Members may, but are not required to, hold a NIPA designation. Business Owner Members will receive various exclusive benefits:
   • All Business Owner Members are entitled to specific member benefits and voting privleges.
   • $200 dollar savings on NAFE registrations; $200 dollar savings on BMC registrations; $100 - $75 dollar savings on NIPA webcast registrations.
   • APA/APR Group Tuition discounts, Webcast package discounts
   • Access to Business Owner discussion forum, BMC surveys, HR tools and sales and marketing resources
   • All Business Owner Members who are APAs are required to fulfill 15 hours of Continuing Education Credit per year. All Business Owner members who are APRs are required to turn in 10 hours per year.
   
   
   
2. Executive Membership ($365) is anyone with a NIPA designation (APA/APR). This membership category is also open to anyone whose primary focus is pension administration including pension administrators, business managers or operations managers. The following benefits and restrictions apply to Executive Members of NIPA:
   • All Executive Members are entitled to specific member benefits and voting privleges.
   • $200 dollar savings on NAFE registrations; $150 dollar savings on BMC registrations; $100 dollar savings on NIPA webcast registrations.
   • All Executive Members are required to fulfill 10 hours of Continuing Education Credit per year (APAs must fulfill 15 hours a year to maintain designation).

   All APAs and APRs must join NIPA as Executive Members to use designation.

3. Affiliate Membership ($295.00) is available to anyone who is affiliated with the retirement plan industry, but does not match the criteria of the Business Owner or Executive Member categories . These members include but are not limited to accountants, CPAs, consultants, attorneys, financial planners, brokers, advisors, HR benefit reps, service providers (documents/software/education) and record keepers. The following benefits and restrictions apply to Affiliate Members of NIPA:
• Affiliate Members are entitled to the same member benefits as Executive Members, but do not have voting privileges.
• $150 dollar savings on NAFE registrations; $100 dollar savings on regular NIPA webcast registrations.
• Affiliate Members are not required to fulfill the continuing education requirements and therefore cannot hold an APA or APR designation.




4. Student Membership ($183) is available to anyone currently working towards their APA or APR designation that has not joined NIPA as an Executive Member. The following benefits and restrictions apply to Student Members:
   • Student Members are entitled to the same member benefits as Executive Members, but do not have voting privleges and are not required to fulfill the Continuing Education requirements.
   • $200 dollar savings on the NAFE registrations and $100 dollar savings on NIPA webcast registrations.
   • The Annual Dues for Student Memberships is exactly one-half of the Executive Membership Dues.
   • Applicants for Student Memberships must be enrolled in either a May, August or November APA or APR course within the same year they apply for membership for their application to be accepted and must continuously enroll in at least one exam per year to maintain their Student Membership.
   • Student Memberships expire 5 years from the date the application is received or until the Student has fulfilled the APA or APR designation requirements - whichever situation occurs first. At this time, they must join NIPA as an Executive Member to maintain their membership or use their APA or APR designation.
